The second annual “Let Your Little Christmas Light Shine” is happening tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 9, at Stars and Stripes Drive-In movie theater in memory of Isaac “KiKi” Juarez who lost his battle with cancer a year ago.
The 7-year-old Clear Spring Elementary student made a big impression on everyone who knew him, inspiring a family friend to start a local nonprofit called Light Work 316, Inc., to help lighten the financial burden of families facing major or life-altering illness or injury and coordinate activities and events to brighten their days.
Since Isaac’s favorite time of the year was Christmas, Light Work 316, Inc., is honoring his memory with this annual “FUNdraiser,” featuring some his favorite things.
Gates open at 5 p.m., and the holiday movie, Elf, starts at 7:15 p.m. Local vendors will offer great opportunities to shop at the event’s “Elf Shop,” and snacks, cookies, Wassail and hot chocolate will be served.
Light Work 316 is offering discount codes, in order, to help as many children as they possibly can during this holiday season. The cost with code, “COMALISD,” is $20 per vehicle. Buy tickets here.
Isaac’s family including his mother, Elida De Luna, a paraprofessional at Clear Spring ES, along with his siblings: Yaretzi Juarez, 10th-grade student at Canyon High School; Jezel Juarez, ninth-grade student at CHS; Abner Juarez, first-grade student at CSES; and Ian Juarez, 3, will be on hand for all the fun.
Isaac dreamed of being a soldier in the U.S. Army and a father to 10,000 children so he could love them. Light Work 316 helped make his dreams come true. Local Army recruiters stepped in to make him an honorary soldier, and through his inspiration, the nonprofit has helped children who are considered his kids.
